Open Position: Postdoctoral Fellow

The Halladay Lab is in search of a Postdoc for a full time position (2-3 years minimum) beginning as soon as Fall 2021. The position includes competitive salary ($61,300), full benefits, a relocation stipend, and annual professional development funds for conference travel.

This position will include conducting research on the long-term neural and behavioral effects of early life stress using a variety of methods including in vivo electrophysiology, chemogenetics, immunohistochemistry, and other advanced tools. We're specifically investigating how postnatal stress alters development of reward and aversion pathways in the limbic system and HPA-axis to incite life-long effects on socio-emotional behaviors. Familiarity with these techniques and use of mouse models is preferred but not required. We are especially interested in candidates with a background in computation and programming (Python, MATLAB, etc).

This Postdoctoral Fellowship is part of Santa Clara University's Inclusive Excellence program. Fellows are partially funded by the College of Arts and Sciences and therefore have small teaching responsibilities (typically one 10-week course in neuroscience/ psychology during the first year, and two during the second postdoc year).

We encourage applications from diverse candidates. To apply or get more information, please contact LHalladay@scu.edu.

Santa Clara University is located in Silicon Valley, CA (south Bay Area).

SCU is putting the finishing touches on a new STEM complex (above), which will be home to the Halladay Lab later this Fall (we're currently in a nearby building on campus).
